Years ago I fell in love with the transparency and glow of watercolor and subsequently discovered the unique way it behaves on Yupo, a smooth plastic paper.
My process is always experimental moving water and color to create shape, line, texture and the sense of depth.
Lately I have begun working with acrylics, papers, and other texturing materials on canvas.
Over time my work has shifted from figurative to non-objective paintings.
Because I begin with no predetermined outcome, my art evolves from the painting process itself, from the sheer joy of putting paint to paper or canvas. The ultimate subject matter derives from my reaction to and understanding of the world around me.
